first and foremost, rolling out of bed this morning wasn’t as difficult as it usually is. i just had this feeling that today was going to be a good day.
i took my shower, put on a skirt (not typical for me during the week), and headed to work looking cute. not that that is relevant, i just wanted to point it out.
on my way to work, i got a text message from lara requesting a rendezvous in vegas in june. okay, not quite like that, but it turns out we will both be in vegas for work at the same time.
um. hello. awesome. girls weekend in vegas?! so we’ll both be working, i’m sure it will still be awesome.
the day was off to a great start.
i got to work, and people keep commenting on how cute i look. not that it’s relevant. i just wanted to point it out.
and then…more awesome. got an email from deb saying she is coming in thursday and will be in la for about a week. her partner told her she could go home for the weekend and her response was ‘no thanks.’
now, keeping in mind, i spent a few hours with deb at xmas-time, but before that hadn’t seen her since our paris trip in may, you can only imagine how excited i am. i might actually possibly explode.
I’m trying to keep my excitement in check, as there is always the possibility of last minute change with her job, but it’s looking ‘fairly certain’, and i am most definitely certain we are going to have a blast!
in other news, three friends had babies this weekend. three! i clearly missed the ‘all aboard the baby boat’ memo, but i am thrilled for them.
angela and kristina both gave birth on friday. angela to gavin, 8 pounds, 7 ounces, 20.5 inches, and kristina to benjamin (via emergency c-section) 5 lbs, 10 ounces, 20 inches. arika decided to wait a day (she was actually early), and gave birth to annabeth on saturday, 6 lbs 6 oz and is 19.5 inches. unfortch, her husband bryan is still a week out from returning from the middle east, but her mother arrived the day before, so thank heavens, she wasn’t alone.
clearly, it was a very busy weekend for everyone else, but i hope that the upcoming one will be very busy for me! maybe it’s finally time to do all the touristy la stuff i haven’t gotten around to doing!

Can't wait to hit the dueling piano bar at New York New York. My fave.
Yay for good days!
P.S. Thanks for another great playlist. My three-year-old adores the music you pick. When times get tough in the evening, sometimes we just head to your page and let the good times roll.
:)
i need an update from ya!
lara-i do LOVE a good dueling piano bar. um, yay!
trish-i had no idea my audience was so diverse! i know what tough critics three year olds are, so i suddenly feel like i have met the highest measure of success i may ever achieve! ;)
