the event

what can i say, the event was a huge success.  my dress was a hit, a celebrity won the auction item we contributed, our company got some great pr, and i had an awesome time.

here are the top five things i learned, remembered, or thought were cool:

1. any woman in search of an ego boost, need only walk into a room full of attractive gay men in a pretty dress (the woman, not the men), and she will quickly find what she was looking for.

2.  tina fey really is that awesome.

3. having ncis' abby sciuto (real name=pauley perrette) give tina fey an award is surrealistic.

4. a fancy awards show is not a good time to try wearing heels for the first time in eight months.  thank heavens i brought sparkly flats to change into!

5.  having my photo taken with gail simmons, a 'top chef' host, was easily my favorite moment of the evening
